All elements of a stationary computer are located in its case. Depending on the architecture of a desktop computer, its internal parts can take different sizes and, accordingly, can be placed in either large or small cases.

What is the difference between computer cases, and in which case is it better to buy a computer?

A standard midi ATX case can accommodate almost any size of a motherboard with a processor and a standard fan; as a rule, such a case can accommodate up to 4 hard drives or an SSD and a medium-sized video card. A computer in such a case can be suitable for any purpose, but if you are not a gamer and not a graphic designer, then today, such a computer is too bulky for home or office use.

The “Big Tower” case is typically used to house components of a gaming and graphics computer, which can use large cooling systems such as water cooling, a large and powerful power supply, and a large video card with built-in fans. This type of computer is suitable for any purpose, but there can be only two reasons for installing it at home, you are either a gamer or a professional graphic or video designer.

A computer in a mini ATX case can be assembled in any configuration that doesn’t include large coolers and video cards. However, you can also install an additional video card in them that meets certain, but not super professional, requirements. The quantity of disks in such case is limited to two pcs. Recommended for home and office use.

The micro ATX computer can be placed in a trouser pocket. These computers use technology that doesn’t require the use of fans to cool the processor. Nevertheless, such computers can be equipped with the most advanced processors, sufficiently large amounts of RAM and up to two SSD disks of the most maximum sizes. Recommended for home and office use. Suitable for use instead of SMART with TV.

Midi ATX and Big Tower cases can be purchased from both unknown Chinese and branded manufacturers. There is a huge selection of such cases on the market with various additional equipment. For example, additional 80 and 120mm fans, conventional and with LED light.

Mini and micro ATX cases are usually made by well-known manufacturers, with complete or minimal assembly. These manufacturers include Intel, MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. These manufacturers use their own power supplies in their cases. Therefore, it is practically impossible to purchase a separate case of minimum dimensions. The same goes for power supplies for mini cases, with the exception of those computers that come with external power supplies.
